Christian music award-winner Steven Curtis Chapman and contemporary Christian band Third Day will perform at DTE Energy Music Theatre on Sunday, September 19 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets at $35 and $25 pavilion and $10 lawn are on sale now at Palacenet.com, The Palace and DTE Energy Music Theatre Box Offices and all Ticketmaster locations. Steven Curtis Chapman was born in Kentucky and began his career in the late 1980s as a songwriter. He has become one of Contemporary Christian music’s most prolific performers, releasing more than 20 albums to date. He has earned five Grammy Awards and 56 GMA Dove Awards, more than any other artist in history. His seven Artist of the Year Dove Awards, his latest in 2009, are also any industry record. He has sold more than 10 million albums and has nine Gold or Platinum LPs. His most recent album is 2009’s Beauty Will Rise. Multi-platinum-selling rock band Third Day has played to millions of fans around the world, garnered 25 number one singles across multiple formats and earned numerous Grammy and Dove Awards. Consisting of Mac Powell, Mark Lee, Tai Anderson and David Carr, the band’s album Revelation earned them an American Music Award in 2008 and their most recent album, Live Revelations, earned them their fourth Grammy Award for Best Gospel Rock/Rap Album in 2009.
